Become a Volunteer
We provide a variety of opportunities for members of
the community to make a difference in the lives of
women in conflict with the law, while gaining valuable
knowledge and experience within the criminal justice
system. After participating in training about:
- the criminal justice system,
- court procedures,
- substance abuse,
- status of women issues,
- Aboriginal issues, and
- community resources,
volunteers work in the courts, in the community, or in our
office, providing a variety of services, including:
- direct service to women and girls inside and
outside the courtroom,
- assistance in the daily operation of the
Society,
- practical assistance and support to clients by
participating in one-to-one matches or in the mentor
program, and
- where possible, transportation for children to
visit their incarcerated mothers.
